first off-- thank YOU so much for ten thousand views. totally mental to me that this personal project of mine has been seen by even TEN people. i don't use traditional social media so joining the indieweb community has been super amazing & i'm hyped to keep making this place even cooooooler B)

since its relevant, i want to comment on neocities' choice to rework how the discovery page works. see here if you're curious about details. but yeah, i get why they did it. there were a lot of porn & scam sites out in the open on the discover page which certainly wasn't Ideal, but i cant say i really like this new system. at least for me, i loved sorting by 'least views' and just seeing sites that i only would have found that way-- site that haven't been propped up to drive traffic. i'm sure that's how many people found my site a year ago!

most of all, i hate the influence that follower numbers have on visibility. i have absolutely zero interest in treating this hosting platform as a traditional social media. i bookmark or post buttons for sites i like, i dont fucking 'follow' them LOLLLL? i also post in guestbooks, i dont comment on profiles. who's to say how much these changes really impacted visibility of my place specifically, but i dunno. just wanted to complain a little about it, especially because if i just created my site today i doubt i would have ever reached this milestone.

im alive i prommy

woa the whole summer went by without an update. sooo sad but i was doing alot of stuff offline. but senior year has started and im back in semi-permanent housing! hopefully i dont drown in work this sem so i can get back to updating here.

im in the psycho helmet webring now but im not on the .js file yet :'(( so i haven't added it on the sidebar. i'll check periodically to see if it gets updated. it also took me like ... two months to check my email and see i was accepted so. hopefully they didnt boot me off for being inactive. who knoaws relly ...

the amount of wips i have marinating on my harddrive rn is obscene. i gotta sketch out the path i would like to follow w this place

to be real i have lost my direction with this site. all has been quiet here for a few months but ive been working on it locally the Whole Time. at least i added the tmasc webring to the sidebar

its all comin togetha...

i finally applied to some webrings. i had bookmarked 4 BUT one of them closed applications && the otherone hasn't been touched in six months. so only two for now. i am thinking about possibly learning to make one myself with the theme of composers w/ their own websites, because i've come across a lot of sites whose webmasters also create music. not only would it just be cool to learn to make a webring, but also, think about what that would mean for discovery! a whole pool of indiweb developer/composers for anyone to browse through... to my knowledge nothing like that exists right now. it'll take a minute to learn to make it, plus... it's not like my site gets crazy traffic or anythin, so i think it would be hard for people to find. perhaps there is a place you can submit your webring so people looking for them can find you? well, it's been added to the list

F to 123guestbooks

third time im making this fucking update because i kept deleting the title formatting information LOLLLLLL.... anyways, 123guestbooks is shutting down july 1 2024 which is sad news. but, on the positive side of things, it's given me a reason to search for alternative guestbooks that are embedded in-site. having it external was Fine but not ideal. i'm considering re-posting old comments from 123 into the new guestbook, but-- i dunno, man. is that super weird? it feels weird, but i just like having everything in one place. and plus like, even if it is weird, do i care enough to let it stop me? ... find out next week on. SURVIVOR.

end of semester + moving

wow its the end of the semester already ... i've just finished moving out of my apartment and im soooo tired. i think this summer will be good..? very strange to be feeling positive about the near future to be Real with you guys. anyways i hope to get good work done on my site these next few months && not just add a billion glitter graphics << his ass has a blinkie website open in a new tab rn -_-

v2.0 is here, please clap. i need to stop touching the fucking homepage and focus on the other pages now -_-

next on the list is working out the issues w/ the right directory sidebar. also, hopefully i'll be getting the collections page and the art gallery posted sometime in the foreseeable future. i also want to apply for a few webrings but im afraid of my email. what if it bites me
